He is survived by: his wife Karen (Gulliksen); his children, James Jr., Janice O'Connell (Tracy) and Kristin Ruthen (Michael); his grandchildren, Tyler, Morgan, Madison, Kaedan O'Connell and Joshua Ruthen; his great grandchild Meira; and his sisters, Frances Beckerman and Joan Dooley. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
