She was predeceased by: her parents, Carl Matlak Sr. and Viola Matlak (Thompson); and her brother Carl Matlak Jr.. She is survived by: her husband Lieutenant Albert Urkawich; her son James Urkawich (Anne); her grandson Paul; her son Alan Urkawich (Michele); her grandchildren, Jacob and Abigail; and her brothers, Joseph Matlak and Richard Matlak.
In lieu of flowers, and in gratitude for the extraordinary compassion and support shown by the hospice nurses during a time of great emotional and physical stress, the family kindly asks that donations be made to Regional Hospice in Liz's memory.
