She was predeceased by: her parents, John A. Carter and Sallie Henshall Schenk of Chattanooga, TN.; and her grandparents, George K., Sara S. Henshall and Marie S. Carter.
She is survived by: her husband Fred B. Brauer; her children, Rebecca Knecht (Wesley) of Southbury, CT, Marie Baugh (Kim) of Virginia, Patricia Trunkwalter (Thomas) of New Jersey and Kenneth Brauer Sr. (Stephanie) of Naugatuck, CT; her sister Jane Buss (Donnie) of Virginia; and her cousins, William and Beverly Milner of Chattanooga. She is also survived by numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren and even great-great-grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews.
