It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Claire Y. Nitkowski (Southington, Connecticut), who passed away on December 27, 2025, at the age of 88, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her husband Chester Nitkowski; her siblings, Fernande, Florence, John and Real Charpentier; her parents, Florent Charpentier and Phoebe Charpentier; and her son-in-law John Mackiewicz.
She is survived by: her daughters, Joanne Labbie, Betty Sue Hubeny, Tania Pelton (Jim) and Ann Marie Mackiewicz; her grandchildren, Jenna Mackey (Kyle), Jessica Labbie (Josh), Caitlin Labbie Murphy (Bryan), Melissa Delaney (John), James Pelton (Samantha), Joseph Pelton (Emily), Roger Christopher Hubeny (Larissa), Lainee Hubeny, Annelise Mackiewicz (John) and John Mackiewicz (Michelle); her great grandchildren, Aurora, Jack, Lucy, Tommy, Weston, Amelia, Finn, Kenny, Maddy, James, Charlie, Henry, Zachary and Nathaniel; and her siblings, Murielle Dubois, Marcel Charpentier, Paul Charpentier and Lucien Charpentier.
In lieu of flowers (as the church is beautifully decorated for Christmas and unable to accommodate them), the family kindly requests that donations be made to St. Luke Parish in Southington in her memory (https://stlukect.org).
