He was predeceased by: his parents, Edward Bruce and Anna Bruce (Downham) of New Britain; his sisters, Nancy Spano and Mary Jane Wierbecki of New Britain; his brothers-in-law, Ronald and Milton Smith of Presque Isle, ME; his son-in-law Jeffrey Rohan of Bristol; his son Lonnie Henderson of Port Clinton, OH; and his granddaughter Desiree Bruce of Bristol.
He is survived by: his wife Gloria Bruce (Henderson); his children, Edward G. Bruce, Jr. (Darlene) of Plainville, Ina Henderson Rohan of Plainville and Madeline Bruce Roy of Port Clinton, OH; and his grandchildren, Frank Hearl, Raymond Halpin, Melanie Roy, Monique Roy, Eddie Bruce III, Robert Bruce and Branden Savard. He is also survived by 13 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great-grandchild.
A memorial gathering will be held on Wednesday, May 20th 2026 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Plainville Funeral Home (81 Broad St, Plainville, CT 06062). A celebration of life will be held on Wednesday, May 20th 2026 at 7:00 PM at the same location.
