We announce the death of Lillian E. Sewell (Southington, Connecticut), who passed away on September 25, 2026, at the age of 91. She was predeceased by: her spouse Vaughn Sewell, Sr.; her parents, Paul C. Dobratz, Sr. and Delma Dobratz (Dellinger); her siblings, Paul C. Dobratz, Jr. (Beverly) and Alma Charette; her grandchildren, Scot Weston (Carol) and Danielle Marie Canalia; and her niece Cindy Aston.
She is survived by: her caregiver Gerri Beach; her children, Michael (Kathy), Vaughn Jr. (Nancy) and Linda (David Canalia); her grandchildren, Becky (Vin Kowalczyk), Emma Sewell, Vaughn Sewell, III, Joseph Sewell, Josh Ruiz (Grace) and Erin Canalia-Le (Long); her great grandchildren, Leo Sullivan, Kara Kowalczyk, Lily Ruiz, Ivy Ruiz and Ethan Le; her nieces and nephews, Wanda, Beverly, Delma, Sarah, Carol and Scott; her sister-in-law Fern Sewell of Houlton, ME; and her caregivers, Aline and Marge. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, October 1st 2026 from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Beecher & Bennett-Flatow Funeral Home (48 Cook Ave, Meriden, CT 06451). A celebration of life will be held on Thursday, October 1st 2026 at 11:30 AM at the First Lutheran Church (232 Bristol St, Southington, CT 06489). A burial will be held on Thursday, October 1st 2026 at the Gethsemane Cemetery (76 Bee St, Meriden, CT 06450).
