He was predeceased by: his stepfather Alphonse Cusano; and his grandparents, Richard Egidio, Darrell J. LaPoint Sr. and Sandra LaPoint. He is survived by: his parents, Teri Egidio and Thomas LaPoint; his stepmother Lisa LaPoint; his siblings, Heather LaPoint, James Augustyn and Melissa Ulmann (Augustyn); his grandmother Patricia Egidio; and his friends, Debra and Dennis Chavoya. He is also survived by aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Monday, October 19th 2026 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the DellaVecchia Funeral Home (211 N Main St, Southington, CT 06489). A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, October 20th 2026 at 10:15 AM at the same location. A Mass of Christian burial will be held on Tuesday, October 20th 2026 at 11:00 AM at the St. Dominic Church (1050 Flanders Rd, Southington, CT 06489). A burial will be held on Tuesday, October 20th 2026 at the St. Thomas Cemetery (209 Belleview Ave, Southington, CT 06489). From 2018 until its closure during the pandemic in 2020, he proudly served as transportation manager and driver for the Active Day senior center of Middlebury.
