We announce the death of Michelle D. Rio of Southington, Connecticut, born in Waterbury, Connecticut, who passed away on August 24, 2026, at the age of 59. Michelle will be remembered by family members, friends, and others whose lives were connected in meaningful ways. Michelle will be remembered for the impact she had on the lives of those around her. Friends, family, and colleagues will cherish their memories and the time shared. Those who knew Michelle will remember moments of kindness, warmth, and presence. Though words cannot fully capture her life, the legacy of connections and experiences remains. Michelle’s absence will be deeply felt by those who valued her companionship.
She was predeceased by: her mother Lorraine Hooper (Boulier); and her brother John Benoit, Jr.. She is survived by: her sons, Anthony Rio (Amanda Undari) of Southington and Matthew Rio of Southington; her father John Benoit, Sr.; her mother-in-law Kathy; her sister Debra George (David) of Southington; and her stepfather Robert Hooper of Southington. She is also survived by many aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.
Visitation was held on Friday, September 4th 2026 from 2:00 PM to 3:30 PM at the Plantsville Funeral Home (975 S Main St, Plantsville, CT 06479). A memorial service was held on Friday, September 4th 2026 at 3:30 PM at the same location.
