He was predeceased by: his parents, Joseph Ruff and Emma Ruff (Lauritzen). He is survived by: his wife Marilyn Ruff (Thibeault); his sons, Rich, Jr., Joseph Timothy (Wayne), William (Donna) and James (Brenda); his grandchildren, Jessica, Melissa, Bonnie, Matthew, Daniel and Chelsea; his stepchildren, Todd Cormier (Shannon) and Amy Cormier (Frank); and his stepgranddaughter Olivia Cormier. He is also survived by several great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, October 10th 2026 from 8:30 AM to 10:30 AM at the Plantsville Funeral Home (975 S Main St, Plantsville, CT 06479). A memorial service will be held on Saturday, October 10th 2026 at 10:30 AM at the same location. A burial will be held on Saturday, October 10th 2026 at the St. Thomas Cemetery (209 Belleview Ave, Southington, CT 06489).
