He was predeceased by: his parents, Mary Kowalyshyn (Gladzys) and John Kowalyshyn Sr.; his wife Elinor Spusta; his son Keith Kowalyshyn; his grandson Brady Kowalyshyn; and his siblings, Anna Furness, Stephen and Lawrence Kowalyshyn.
He is survived by: his sons, John Kowalyshyn (Leigh) and Shawn Kowalyshyn (Kim); his grandchildren, Jacob (Brittany), Shawn (Michelle), Ashley (Dan), Luke (Kathryn) and Kate (Jimmy); his great grandchildren, Grace, Isabella, Sophie and Scarlett; and his friend Rod MacDonald (Pam). He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
