He is survived by: his wife Emma Mery; his children, Talia Ayala and Mia Ayala; his parents, Angel R. Ayala and Ana M. Collazo-Solano; his stepmother Cruz M. Rivera; his siblings, Betzaida Ayala, Richard Ayala, Ariana Robles, Gabriela Solano, Jesse Solano, Yelixa Santiago and Flor Santiago; his parents-in-law, Sergio Mery and Flor Mery; his sister-in-law Michele Mery; and his pets, Blue and Louie. He is also survived by cousins, nieces, nephews, relatives, friends.

His fight with COVID showed his courage, strength, and resilience.
