She was predeceased by: her parents, George "Freenie" Wainwright and Mary Vincent Wainwright; her grandmother Bessie Wainwright; her son David Allen Custis; her siblings, Herman Wainwright, Ollie Wainwright, Mickey Vincent and Shirley Reeves; and her grandchildren, Crystal and Christopher Mann.
She is survived by: her aunt Julia Long; her cousins, Denise Evans of Spokane and Cindy Porter of Meriden, Connecticut.; her children, Linda Custis and Michael Brown of Stamford, Connecticut; and her grandchildren, Lyndell, Alan, Michael, Travis and Tamiqua. She is also survived by twelve great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and dear friends.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, October 10th 2026 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Bethel AME Church (150 Fairfield Ave, Stamford, CT 06902). A reception will be held on Saturday, October 10th 2026 at 11:00 AM at the Fellowship Hall.
