She was predeceased by: her parents, Patrick Gillespie and Doris Murphy; her close friend Willie Charles Condry Jr.; and her siblings, Trevor Gillespie, Louise Evelyn Gillespie, Tony Gillespie, Durval Gillespie, Warren Roy Gillespie, Keith Ransford Gillespie Sr., Howard Earl Gillespie and Lloyd Gillespie.

She is survived by: her son Herman "Mike" Prawl (Donna Woods-Prawl) of Georgia; her grandchildren, Chante'Dominique Prawl and Clayton Archibald Ingraham Prawl; and her sisters, Norma Gillespie, Aloma Florene Ebanks (Murphy) and Violet Isolyn "Joy" Wright (Murphy). She is also survived by nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, October 17th 2026 from 9:00 AM to 10:00 AM at the Eternity Funeral Services (23 E 2nd St, Mt Vernon, NY 10550). A funeral service will be held on Saturday, October 17th 2026 at 10:00 AM at the same location. A repast will be held on Saturday, October 17th 2026 at 3601 Boston Rd, Bronx, NY 10466. A burial will be held on Saturday, October 17th 2026 at the Kensico Cemetery (273 Lakeview Ave, Valhalla, NY 10595).
