It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Elizabeth M. Hayes of Stamford, Connecticut, who passed away on April 20, 2024, at the age of 97, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by : her parents, John B. Dietl and Maria Dietl (Boxhorn); her husbands, George W. Bates and James Hayes; her children, Robert Bates, Jim Hayes and Susan Larsen; her stepdaughter Judy Hayes; and her sister Wilhelmina Polka.

She is survived by : her daughter Diane; her brothers, John W. (Elizabeth) and Richard; her granddaughters, Kimberly Larsen and Suzanne Rogers (Steven); and her great grandchildren, Sienna and Cameron (Rogers). She is also survived by many nieces and nephews, cousins, and many beloved friends.

Visitation was held on Monday, April 29th 2024 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Nicholas F. Cognetta Funeral Home & Crematory (104 Myrtle Ave, Stamford, CT 06902). A Mass of Christian burial was held on Tuesday, April 30th 2024 at 10:00 AM at the Benedict's R. C. Church (21 St Benedict Cir, Stamford, CT 06902).
