He was predeceased by: his parents, John Power and Annie Power (Kelly); his siblings, Connie Power and Neil Power; his son David Powers of Newfoundland; and his daughter-in-law Joanne Guglielmo Powers.
He is survived by: his wife Mary Catherine "Kay" Powers; his children, John F. "Jack" Powers (Jan), Michael J. Powers, Gerald E. Powers and Karen P. Slimmon (Andrew) of Chicago; his daughter-in-law Shirley Powers of Mt. Pearl, Newfoundland; his grandchildren, Robert, Courtney, Daniel, Emily, Brian, Katy, Nicholas, Kelly, Abby and Jackie; his great grandchildren, Eve, Alex, Harper, Jack and Sophie; and his siblings, Nicholas "Nick" Power (Bonnie) and Catherine Howard of St. John's, Newfoundland. He is also survived by numerous cousins, nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Monday, May 18th 2026 from 3:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Bosak Funeral Home & Cremation (453 Shippan Ave, Stamford, CT 06902). A funeral Mass will be held on Tuesday, May 19th 2026 at 10:30 AM at the Church of Saint Cecilia (1184 Newfield Ave, Stamford, CT 06905).
