He was predeceased by: his parents, Dalton Sayles and Margaret Sayles; and his former wife Deborah Markey. He is survived by: his siblings, David Sayles and Evelyn Thavanet; his daughters, Courtney Gencarelli and Quinn Sayles (Dennis Rollins); his grandchildren, Kyle Gencarelli and Katelyn Gencarelli; his great grandchild Ezra Gencarelli; his wife Sharon Sayles; his stepsons, Scott Curran (Kimberly) and Chris Curran; and his stepgrandchildren, Whitney, Charlotte and Winter. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews.
Visitation was held on Sunday, October 18th 2026 from 2:00 PM to 5:00 PM at the Mystic Funeral Home (51 Williams Ave, Mystic, CT 06355). A funeral Mass was held on Monday, October 19th 2026 at 2:00 PM at the St. Mary Church (22 Broad St, Stonington, CT 06378).
