He was predeceased by: his parents, John Kmec and Krystyna Kmec; his grandson Kevin Sewell; and his brothers, John and George.
He is survived by: his children, Mary Kriz (Edward) of Milford, Anna Mata (Vincent) of Monroe, Dorothy Sewell (Mike) of Shelton and Joe Kmec (Raven) of Stratford; his grandchildren, Eddie Kriz (Christy), John Kriz (Amanda), Rob Kriz (Tiffany), Vincent Mata, Jacqueline Gurecki (Nick), Brian Sewell (Kelsey), Kristen Pawlowski (Christopher), Magee Szeligowski (Vinny), Jana Butkus (Jacob) and Evan Kmec (Anna); his great grandchildren, Emily, Jordyn, Eddie, Anya, Eva, Gavin, Nathan, Emma, Kayla, Nicholas and Katie; his sister Anna Leszczynski (Lou) of Trumbull; and his sister-in-law Stella Kmec of Stratford. He is also survived by several cousins, nieces, and nephews.
