He was predeceased by: his wife Eleanor Turchik Pekata; and his parents, Stanley Pekata and Mary Pekata (Sabat). He is survived by: his daughters, Gail Maida of Stratford and Merri Middlemass of Stratford; his grandchildren, Joseph M. Maida, Andrew Maida, Amanda Middlemass (Piotr) and Samantha Middlemass; his great grandchildren, Maya, Emma, Henryk and Joshua; and his caregivers, Erica and MaryAnn. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
