He was predeceased by: his parents, Alfred Shorb and Edelle Shorb (Anderson); and his pets, Butterscotch and Brandy. He is survived by: his wife Deanne Shorb (Houghton); his children, Kerry Shorb-Stovall (Christopher) of Canton, CT, Amy Shorb Kropp (George) of Coral Springs, FL and Lee Christian Hansen (Gretchen) of San Francisco, CA; and his grandchildren, Kara Fay Kropp of Gainesville, FL, Aidan William Kropp of Coral Springs, FL, Victoria Anne Hansen of San Francisco, CA., William Lee Hansen of San Francisco, CA. and Nicholas Wolfe Hansen of San Francisco, CA..

In lieu of flowers donations would be appreciated to Alzheimer's Association CT Chapter, 200 Executive Blvd. S #4b, Southington, CT 06489 or the CT Humane Society 701 Russell Road, Newington, CT 06111.

We soon became friends and that friendship lasted until his passing. He was a wonderful friend,mentor & leader & I will always cherish his friendship!. Rest in peace now, Del!”
