He is survived by: his sons, Peter of New Hartford, CT and Thomas (Courtney); his grandchildren, Owen and Riley of Aldie, VA.; his brother Donald Mathes; his sister-in-law Mary Donovan Mathes of Terryville, CT; and his nephew Paul Mathes (Bete) of Manchester, CT..
