With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Joan Caroline DeLayo of Torrington, Connecticut, born in Queens Village, New York, who passed away on November 12, 2025 at the age of 82. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was loved and cherished by many people including: her parents, Josef Hormann and Caroline Hormann (Welzhofer); her children, Thomas DeLayo (Michelle), Robert DeLayo (Julia) and Lisa Kalach (Kevin); her grandchildren, Jordan, Ryan, Isabella and Michael; and her son John Thomas.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, December 3rd 2025 from 6:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Carmon Funeral Home & Family Center (301 Country Club Rd, Avon, CT 06001). A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, December 3rd 2025 at 7:00 PM at the same location.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Joan's memory may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital (stjude.org) or to the Shrine of Lourdes, Litchfield, CT (shrinect.org).
