He is survived by: his wife Diane "Dede" Basso (Lenart); his pet Lily; his siblings, Laura Sanford, Louise Basso (Bill Scaia) and Larry Basso (Luci Jamison); his siblings' children, Nicolas, Dean Basso and Julia Sanford Taylor (Jason); his sisters-in-law, Valerie Lenart and Audrey Spielman (Chuck); and his nephews, Mitchell Lenart (Jaimie) and Dr. Andrew Spielman.
