He was predeceased by: his parents, Louis and Lillian; his brother-in-law Derward Sanford; his mother-in-law Marie Lenart; and his sister-in-law Annette Lenart.
He is survived by: his wife Diane "Dede" Basso (Lenart); his pet Lily; his siblings, Laura Sanford, Louise Basso (Bill Scaia) and Larry Basso (Luci Jamison); his nephews, Nicolas and Dean Basso; his niece Julia Sanford Taylor (Jason); his sisters-in-law, Valerie Lenart and Audrey Spielman (Chuck); and his nephews, Mitchell Lenart (Jaimie) and Dr. Andrew Spielman.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, June 4th 2025 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Phalen Funeral Home (285 Migeon Ave, Torrington, CT 06790). A Mass of Christian burial will be held on Thursday, June 5th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the Saint Peter Church (107 E Main St, Torrington, CT 06790).
