John touched countless lives with warmth and kindness, leaving behind cherished memories that will forever echo in hearts. He was predeceased by: his parents, William Alexander Gray and Mildred Gray (Holden); his wife Doris Moore Gray; his daughter Susan Leslie Gray Cmejla; his grandson Craig S. Lancaster; and his brothers, Duncan Gray (Jean), William Gray (Joan) and James Graham Gray (Joan).
He is survived by: his children, William Alexander Gray (Lynnette Cubeta Gray), Linda Gray Connolly (Jay Connolly) and Karen H. Gray (Tracy Djerf); his brother-in-law Harvey M. Moore, Jr. (Vicki Moore); his grandchildren, William, John, Lauren Gray, Kelsey Connolly Crawford (Ben Crawford), Ian William Connolly, Keith Lancaster, Jenny Cmejla Herbst (Gregg Herbst) and Jeff Cmejla; his great grandchildren, Charlotte, Jack Crawford, Caylin and Ashlyn Herbst; and his pets, Penny, Lincoln and Silas. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, November 15th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the Mattapoisett Congregational Church (27 Church St, Mattapoisett, MA 02739).
