He is survived by: his wife Anne Martikainen (Sullivan); his children, John Martikainen, Michael Martikainen (Sonia Wojcicki), Sarah Westermeyer (Jeff) and Timothy Martikainen; his grandchildren, John Reino (JR), Olivia Martikainen, Jake, Grace Westermeyer, Michael, James Wojcicki and Eric Annicelle; and his sisters, Jean Recklet, Becky Martikainen (Tom Watcke) and Karen Driscoll (David).
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital or Smilow Pediatric Cancer Hospital at Yale New Haven.
