He was predeceased by: his parents, Louis Jelenik and Georgianna Jelenik; and his grandson Liam Donald. He is survived by: his wife Lillian Mayer Jelenik; his daughters, Tammy Schroeder (Billy DiNapoli), Heidi Kovacs (Chris), Lori Jelenik and Kristy Jelenik (Marc Donald); his siblings, Robert Jelenik (Jean), Gary Jelenik and Arlene Rubertino (Charles); and his grandchildren, Hunter, Michael, Morgan, Samantha, Amanda, Frankie, Chance, Riley and Phinn.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the VA Hospital, 950 Campbell Ave., West Haven, CT 06515 (va.gov).
