He was predeceased by: his parents, Robert Blythe and Clara Blythe (Dropeski); and his wife Niavalene Y. Blythe. He is survived by: his sister Lois Young of Wethersfield; his children, David Jr. (Alison) of Wallingford, Thomas of Farmington, NH and Robert (Daisy) of Northford; his grandchildren, Drew, Lauren, Jonathan (Kaitlin), Natasha and Nathan; and his great grandchild Elara.
