He is survived by: his daughter Elizabeth Valalik Preston (Christopher Preston); his granddaughters, Carly and Emily Preston; his son George Robert Valalik Jr. of Wallingford; and his grandchildren, Michael Valalik, Erinn Huffman and Tyler Valalik. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
