He was predeceased by: his parents, James Vincent Genovese Sr. and Dorothy Reynolds (Petrillo); his wife Alberta (Hackley); his son James Vincent Genovese III; his grandson Robert Janiszcak; and his brothers, Robert and John Genovese.
He is survived by: his children, Judy Janiszcak (Steve) of Westbrook, Vanessa Phillips (Anthony) of South Carolina, Nancy Cordero (David) of Clinton, William Genovese (Selene) of Wallingford, Georgette Genovese (Dominic) of East Haven and Joseph Genovese (Dorothy) of Florida; and his sister Veronica of Wallingford. He is also survived by eighteen grandchildren; thirty-two great-grandchildren, four great-great grandchildren.
