She was predeceased by: her parents, Thomas F. Hammond and Marguerite Hammond (O'Neill); her son Thomas M. Spencer; and her grandchildren, Elizabeth A. Spencer and Stanley P. Gura.

She is survived by: her children, James Spencer (Sal A. DeCola) of Wallingford, William Spencer (Susan) of Orange, Deborah Spencer of Meriden and Susan Lincoln (Harold) of Wallingford. She is also survived by grandchildren and seven cherished great grandchildren.
