He is survived by: his wife Maria Alzira Morais; his children, Antonio Jose (Cruz Monteiro), Luisa Maria, Cruz Monteiro (Gabriel Serrano), Dr. Carla Maria (Cruz Monteiro) and Marcia Cristina (Cruz Monteiro Rodrigues); his grandson Thomas Alexander Rodrigues; his siblings, Maria Helena Fernandes Monteiro, Jose Manuel Fernandes Monteiro, Carmo Fernandes Monteiro, Antonio Fernandes Monteiro, Candido Garcia Monteiro and Maria Alice Fernandes Monteiro; and his pet Daisy. He is also survived by spouses, and many nieces and nephews.
