It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Joseph Anthony Catala Sr. of Wallingford, Connecticut, born in New Haven, Connecticut, who passed away on October 15, 2022, at the age of 95, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Anthony Catala and Raffaella Catala (Pagano); his son Anthony Catala; and his sister Dolores Johnson. He is survived by: his spouse Jean Catala; his children, Joseph Catala Jr., James Catala (Mary), Sandra Mezei (William), Renee Jerzyk (Jeff), Mark Catala (Shellie), Steven Catala (Lisa) and Lynn Keyes (Kevin); his grandchildren, William Mezei Jr. (Crystal), Rachel DiPietro (Ryan), Christy Catala, Joseph Mezei, Chelsea Ellis (Derek), Kelly Jerzyk, Alyssa Catala, Elizabeth Jerzyk, Alexandra Curtis (Keenan), Charles Catala (Kim), Shayne Catala, Cassandra Bjornberg (Michael), Kevin Keyes Jr. (Laura) and Kerri Catala; and his siblings, Maria D'Aniello and Eugene Catala (Janet). He is also survived by nine loving great grandchildren.
