He was predeceased by: his wife Mabel Rose Barnes (Gardner); his parents, Merritt Barnes and Georgianna Barnes (Ludington); his siblings, Georgianna McCurry, Ernest Barnes and Charles Barnes; and his niece Jamie Gardner.
He is survived by: his daughters, Deborah Oehrle (Robert) of Madison and Darlene Smith (Edward) of Meriden; his granddaughter Olivia Yu Tian Oehrle; and his siblings, Patricia Robinson, Anna DeRose, Merritt Barnes, Jr. and Roger Barnes. He is also survived by many loving nieces and nephews.
