She was predeceased by: her husband Douglas Townsend; her parents, Calvin Tinker and Hilda Tinker (Crichton); her son-in-law Nicholas J. Russo Jr.; and her brothers-in-law, Johnny, Omar "Turk", Ricky and Gary.
She is survived by: her daughter Debra Russo; her grandson Joshua Russo of Meriden; and her sisters, Penny Malloch of Campobello, Sheila Mallock (Roy) of Campobello, Sandra Brunet of Campobello, Erma Cline (Jimmy) of Campobello, Della Malloch of Campobello and Dorinda Anthony of Campobello. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, July 3rd 2025 from 10:30 AM to 11:30 AM at the First Baptist Church (114 N Main St, Wallingford, CT 06492). A funeral service will be held on Thursday, July 3rd 2025 at 11:30 AM at the same location.
In lieu of flowers, gifts in Leona's memory may be sent to the Wallingford Senior Center Memory Lane Program and/or to First Baptist Church of Wallingford.
