He was predeceased by: his parents, Albert Buiten and Edyth Van Buiten (Veenema). He is survived by: his wife Barbara "Bobbie" Van Buiten (Bailey); his children, Deborah Flint (David), Martin A. Van Buiten, Jr. (Gail) and Carl Van Buiten (Dina); his grandchildren, David Flint (Lynne), Jessica Beekley (Patrick), Jacquelyn Bozart (Daniel), Dr. Charlene Van Buiten (Mitchell Shanahan), Carl Van Buiten (Sabina), Sarah Van Miran (Gabriella) and Ryan Flint (Cassandra); his great grandchildren, Brooks, Sophia, Lucia Flint, Nathan, Aaron Van Buiten and Logan Van Muran; and his brother John Van Buiten of Indiana.
It is suggested that contributions in his memory be directed to the Alzheimer's Association.
