He was predeceased by: his parents, Manuel Soares and Frances Dias Soares; and his brother Charles "Luddy" Soares. He is survived by: his wife Diane Avella Soares; his son Matthew Soares; his grandchildren, Tori of Wallingford, Morgan of Wallingford and Madison Soares of Wallingford; and his siblings, Ann Soares, Steven Soares (Marsha), Mary Frances "Skeet" Reed, Barbara Lester (Byron) of Bloomfield, Ina Jean Turner, Patricia Clayton (Larinzo) of East Hartford and David "DJ" Soares of Idaho. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
