In the hush of twilight, as the stars twinkle in silent homage, we reflect on the legacy Mildred leaves behind and her impact on the lives of her loved ones. Though Mildred may no longer walk among us, her spirit lives on in the memories held dear by her family and friends, a guiding light that illuminates their paths in times of darkness.
She was predeceased by: her husband Edward K. Layman; and her parents, Joseph Cihowski and Katherine Korzen Cihowski. She is survived by: her children, Maureen Heilman (James) of Wallingford and James Layman (Emily) of Wallingford; and her grandchildren, James E. Heilman (Alicija) of Wallingford and Katherine E. (William Ansalvish Jr.) of Sharpsburg, MD. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, October 9th 2025 from 9:00 AM to 10:30 AM at the Wallingford Funeral Home (809 N Main Street Ext, Wallingford, CT 06492). A funeral service will be held on Thursday, October 9th 2025 at 10:30 AM at the same location.
