He was predeceased by: his parents, John Chenkus and Catherine Chenkus (Serafin); his children, James A. Chenkus and Deborah J. Chenkus; and his brothers, John, Stanley and Leonard Chenkus.
He is survived by: his wife Mary Chenkus (Cwirka); his son Robert A.; his daughter-in-law Diane Chenkus; and his grandchildren, Alysa Dussault (Brian) and Bobby Chenkus (Caylee). He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
Visitation was held on Wednesday, July 9th 2025 from 10:00 AM to 11:30 AM at the Wallingford Funeral Home (809 N Main Street Ext, Wallingford, CT 06492). A Mass of Christian burial was held on Wednesday, July 9th 2025 from 12:00 PM to 12:45 PM at the Peter and Paul Church (139 N Orchard St, Wallingford, CT 06492).
