He is survived by: his wife Chrysoulla Yalanis (Vasiliou) of Waterbury; his daughters, Kyriacou "Koulla" Yalanis (Anthony Greco) of Waterbury, Anastasia "Stacy" Velez (Jose) of Waterbury, Eleni Andoni Papadopoulos (Joseph Zaniewski) of Waterbury and Christina Mino (Emil) of Waterbury; his siblings, JoAnn Yalanis Belitsis of Astoria, NY, Diane Yalanis Sumpter (Vincent) of Plainville, MaryAnn Yalanis of Statesboro, GA, Phillip Yalanis (Cindy) of Beacon, NY, Connie Yalanis Czako of Hawkinsville, GA and George Yalanis of Swansboro, GA; his grandchildren, Evandros Andoni, Evera Andoni, Giovanni Velez, Tefta Mino, Alexander Mino, Anthony Greco III and Panayotis Papadopoulos; and his siblings-in-law, Eleni Michaelides (Theodore) of Oakville, Vasili Vasilou (Niki) of Waterbury and Andy Vasiliou (Sue) of Waterbury. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Over the years Ernie donated a lot of his time to preparing food for the homeless, something that he was very proud of.
