She was predeceased by: her husband John Wesley James, Sr.; her parents, Jimmie Perry and Viola Perry (Long); her son Tilton James; her grandson John James; her siblings, Doris Perry Staton, John Henry Perry, Issac Perry, Paul Perry, Clarence Perry and Shelton Perry; her close friend Maready Chapman; and her cousin Willie Overton (Granmammy).
She is survived by: her sons, John Wesley James Jr. of Waterbury, CT and Roger James of Massachusetts; her siblings, Shirley Perry of Elizabeth City, NC, Vivian Perry of Elizabeth City, NC, Elnora Alleyne of Plainfield, NJ and James Perry of Plainfield, NJ; her aunt Mary Frances James of Woodville, NC; and her close friend Obzine Walton. She is also survived by her eleven grandchildren, nineteen great grandchildren, three great-great grandchildren.
