He was predeceased by: his wife Eileen M. Howell (Fitzgerald); his parents, Albert Howell and Sylvia Howell (Mercer); and his daughters, Deborah and Marlene.
He is survived by: his children, David Howell (Barbara) of Waterbury, Beverly Van Wagner of Litchfield and Daphne Thompson (Donald) of Maine; his brother James Howell of Ohio; and his sister-in-law Joan Fitzgerald of Plantsville. He is also survived by his ten grandchildren; twelve great-grandchildren; three step-grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
