He was predeceased by: his parents, John J. Ryan and Hanora Ryan (Thompson). He is survived by: his siblings, Jack Ryan of California and Mavourneen Mowad of Waterbury, Connecticut; his nephews, Sean Mowad (Karen), Jonathan Ryan and Steve Ryan (Jennifer); his niece Diana Arora (Gaurav); and his great-nieces and great-nephews, Sameer Arora, Makendra Mowad, Brianna Mowad, Parker Mowad, Brody Mowad, Colin Ryan, Aubrey Mowad, Karina Arora, Riley Ryan, Genevieve Mowad and Kaisyn Mowad.
