She is survived by: her children, Brenda Vilela (Julia Schaefer) of Middletown, Lori Vilela of Middlebury and Gerald J. Vilela (Randalee) of Waterbury; her grandchildren, Stephanie M. Vilela of Waterbury, Anthony Vilela of Waterbury and Kai Vilela (Adam) of Hartford; her brother Robert DeMaida (Ruth) of Terryville; and her close friend Barbara Howard. She is also survived by several nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
