He was predeceased by: his father Jose C. Magalhaes; his brothers, Jose and Antonio Magalhaes; and his brother-in-law Robert Filippone. He is survived by: his mother Esther Magalhaes (Ribeiro); his wife Rosa Magalhaes (Barros); his daughters, Rosa Maria Magalhaes of Waterbury and Laura Freitas (Manuel) of Waterbury; his grandchildren, Ashley Freitas of Waterbury and Joseph Freitas (Amy Stafford) of Prospect; his great grandchild Madelyn Freitas of Prospect; his siblings, Carmolina Sousa (Delfim) of Waterbury, Arminda Oliveira of Waterbury, Joaquim Magalhaes (Maria) of Naugatuck, Adelino Magalhaes (Judith), Maria Filippone of Naugatuck and Americo Magalhaes of Waterbury; and his sister-in-law Fernanda Magalhaes of Waterbury. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews and cousins.
