He was predeceased by: his parents, George Thompson and Alice Thompson (Anderson); and his fiancée Elaine Richard. He is survived by: his children, Scott Thompson of West Hartford, Doug Thompson (Kelly) of Burlington and Noelle Bates (Brian) of Wolcott; his grandchildren, Julia Bois (Justin), Wes Thompson (Jill Gurry), Garrett Thompson, Andrew Thompson, Holly Thompson, Lila Thompson, Alyssa Chaves (Alex) and Leslie Bates; and his great grandchildren, Jaxson, Cora Bois, Otavio and Anastassia Chaves.
Visitation was held on Thursday, October 15th 2026 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Funk Funeral Home (35 Bellevue Ave, Bristol, CT 06010). A funeral service was held on Friday, October 16th 2026 at 11:00 AM at the same location.
Donations in lieu of flowers may be made to the Waterbury Police Athletic League.
