He was predeceased by: his parents, Daniel J. Smith and Margaret Smith (Burke); and his siblings, Elizabeth Rendino, Daniel J. Smith Jr., Stephen Smith and Timothy Smith.
He is survived by: his wife Faye Smith (Coon); his children, William A. Smith Jr. (Patricia) of Harwinton, CT and Colleen Mucci (Matthew) of Marlboro, MA.; his brother Michael Smith; his granddaughters, Carol Kaye, Kathleen Smith and Maureen Motherway; and his nieces and nephews, Margaret Mucci, Meredith, Jace Smith and Liam.
