He was predeceased by: his parents, Roy Schmaling and Eleanore Schmaling (Linnin); and his sister Jean Knopf. He is survived by: his wife Judy Schmaling (Butterly); his children, Tami Gilbert, Donald (Brittany Schmaling) and Jeffrey (Amanda Schmaling); his grandchildren, Ben, Alex Gilbert, Jackson, Madelyne Schmaling and Liam Schmaling; and his brother Roy (MaryBeth Schmaling). He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews; and many cousins and friends.
