He was predeceased by : his parents, James T. Shafer and Eleanor Gross; and his brothers-in-law, Richard L. Basinger and Larry Ludwig. He is survived by : his sister Nelda Sue Ludwig; his nephews, Mark Basinger (Katie) and Matthew Ludwig; his niece Sharlyn Smith of Lima, OH.; his close friends, Ruth, Win, Ellen, John, Joe, Sandra, Barbara, Tom, Elaine, Rick, Joanne and Pamela; and his faithful priest Rowena J. Kemp.
