We are sad to announce that on May 27, 2025, at the age of 71, Matthew Arens (West Hartford, Connecticut), born in Farmington, Connecticut passed away. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
Though Matthew has departed this earthly realm, his legacy endures — a legacy of love that will continue to illuminate the lives of family and friends in the darkest of hours. May his spirit soar on wings of eternal peace, forever cherished in the tender embrace of memory.
He is survived by: his wife Susan Arens (Wallace); his children, Paul Arens (Ji) and Christine O'Halloran (Ryan); his grandchildren, Robert, Laura and Rowan; and his brothers, Mark Arens and Peter Arens. He is also survived by friends and neighbors.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, June 5th 2025 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Sheehan Hilborn Breen Funeral Home (1084 New Britain Ave, West Hartford, CT 06110). A Mass of Christian burial will be held on Friday, June 6th 2025 at 10:00 AM at the Church of St. Peter Claver (47 Pleasant St, West Hartford, CT 06107). A burial will be held on Friday, June 6th 2025 at 11:15 AM at the St. Ann's Cemetery (39 Arch Rd, Avon, CT 06001).
