She was predeceased by: her spouse Duarte Hermenegildo; her parents, Eduardo Madeira and Maria Emilia Sousa Lourenço; and her siblings, Antonio Rui Sousa Madeira, Maria Piedade Fernandes (José), Maria Fernanda Madeira (João), Maria Helena Fernandes (Henrique) and Maria Conceição Madeira.
She is survived by: her daughter Elizabeth Sousa; her daughter-in-law Lynn Hermenegildo; her son Phillip Sousa Hermenegildo of Newington; her grandchildren, Domenik, Toby, Ellie, Zaiden, Cameron Hermenegildo and Elijah Shaw; her sister-in-law Maria Nazaré Fortes (Manuel) of West Hartford; and her nieces and nephews, Rosinda, Jorge (Nancy), Margarida (José), Manuela (Anibel), Sergio and Diane (Bill).
