He is survived by: his parents, Edward Smith and Dorothy Smith (Biddlecome); his wife Joan Smith (Schmidt); his daughters, Karen Smith Johnson (David) of Woodbine, MD and Patricia Smith Karpe of Weatogue; his grandchildren, Alexander, Christopher Johnson, Amanda and Marybeth Karpe; his brother David Smith (Patricia) of Enfield; and his nieces and nephews, Ketrin Lano (James Lano), Sarah Smith, Eric C Smith (Daniela Smith), Robert B Smith, Jr. and Todd E Smith (Nancy Smith).
